1st year DW play list
By: Jeff OresikThere is the "old school" part of me that likes your minimal play list. I hope it is because you plan on focusing on fundamentals. You should consider adding plays as the season progresses. If you don't feel comfortable with how your team runs a play, you can always omit it from your call list until they are ready. Try to throw just a little more at them than you think they can handle.
The 2pt stance idea isn't bad (I may think this one over.). Your wedge will be more screen blocking where the LB alignment creates the gap. I would think about using 3 pt stances for goaline/short yardage situations or as a change up.
If your QB is a desent runner, put in a bootleg (Just call the same play and have him run it naked.). Also, think about a play action pass off each run. A little TE dump off the wedge would be pretty simple.
There probably is more art than science to the number of plays. I think the way to look at it is how many different assignments does each player have? Then you can put the burden on players who are more capable to handle different assignments.
