Passing
By: JTyou bring up a good point..as some that played from 6th grade till the age of 30 something, when i got into coaching, the hardest thing to learn was you cant expect them to play like you did,...and that they ARE only 10, 11 yrs. old...i still for get that, especially when theyre as big as me!!!!(im 5ft 9"...220lbs, and theres 7th graders bigger....haha)
and i see parents rip into these kids like their in the pro's...come on......calm down..besides, thats MY job..Im Italian, and have the temper to prove it, but even I dont expect them to be perfect, and tell them that.but i do DEMAND 110% effort..i can live with mistakes, and losses if i get the effort, and i see they are improvig...thats what our league is all about...if i was paying them to play, id get alot more upset..ahahaha...for me, i like having the parents at practice...like having an extra coach...some to help when a kid gets hurt....someone other than a coach to talk to them...and someone other than a 10yr old for us to talk to..it keeps us sane...and the kids "in line" .....hahha....our practices are in side the fence of the outfield of a local baseball field thats right on the street, about 20yds from the sidewalk...and the parents that stay, are right on the fence...they bring chairs, and gab amongst themselves....we ve always, for some reason, had alot of parents at our practices, and alot of support at the games...quite a large rooting section...which helps the kids, they love it...but its also kind of scary to the coaches...we re afraid theyll turn on us at any time...haahaha
