DOUBLE WING CLINIC

i appreciate your take...and respect your views...thats what this is all about...but, you havent spent much time with 5th graders, have you? hahaha...2hrs to them, is like 8hrs to us...and you know how we feel after 5hrs at work? counting down the final 3hrs...our first two weeks of practice, are all like you said, but for only 1 1/2hr a nite 430-600...5 nites....then, when the season starts, they get thursdays off...football isnt their livelyhood, its just extra cirricular....school work comes first...thats the way the parents want, and so it is...no kickoff, dont really know why...probably a left over rule from back in the day...just easier, i suppose....but i will ask...coaches are coaches and are always looking for angles, so, yes, we re always trying for different rule changes...we got the 1,3 &4th qtrs lenghened to 7mins from 6,cuz the league changed the 2nd qtr (bteam qtr) from 8 mins to 10 cuz of the 5th graders this year, and stuff like that...and we re all working on how we re gonna handle this expansion situation...i say we get to keep 1/2 our returning players...the commish wants us to just keep 2 (qb & center)....try getting four of your fellow coaches to agree on anything, no matter how close they are..hahaha...therell be a big meeting in june or july and we ll decide all this then...as far as the practices go...there use to be 4 8th grade teams there, as well as the 4 6th/7th grade teams....they made the eight grade a traveling team, and they practice at the high school...which left the 4 of us inside the baseball field...cramped, but ok...we ll just have to have 2 teams outside the fence (some room, but not much)....it can happen, when youre only dealing with 20 kids, as opposed to 35 we had this year...it was harder this year, than ever..i wish the 5th graders could have their own league, and leave us alone...haha...
