Keeping Moms Off the Football Field

First of all, let me say that I agree with you that moms should not be on the field during practices. But, I think the same goes for dads--unless they are one of the coaches! I feel it is a distraction to the player and it also puts the coaches in an awkward position when parents are there feeling sorry for their player. HOWEVER, your issue is that the "moms" don't know anything, so...if they want to be there and that is okay with you, then maybe you should speak with them and tell them your philosophy and style of coaching. Ask them to please not make the comments during practice. Or perhaps, you could teach them about the game if you feel that is the problem. I am a mom of a high school football player, and I can tell you that practice is not the place for parents. It is hard to watch what those boys go through! Our place is in the bleachers cheering them on while they are showing us why they endure all of those grueling practices.
