Football dad looking for advice?

I too have a son in football. Although the league
we play in is more divided in weight classes and
age my son is playing on an 80 lb. team. His
weight is 64.

There are a number of kids in his general weight
and age so that is not a problem. He is the
smallest boy on his team and he is playing
tackle, which he can't compete with bigger boys.
Our league also has a player participation rule
of 10 plays, but often coaches ignore it.

It is unfortunate when coaches neglect to develop
the skills of the players. I have spent many
years associated with youth sports and most of
the time the coaches coach so that their children
will get the oportunity to play.

Stick with it, work with your son and he will
develop, and enjoy his football experience and
you will enjoy the time spent with your son.
