Why Little League?

Jeff,

I appreciate your comments. All youth sports must/should be fun otherwise kids will not want to participate. I feel, however, that technique development is much more important than strategy (to win ball games) development for young players. I would rather see kids develop solid technique (pitching, hitting, fielding, throwing) than worrying about things such as double steals and suicide squeezes which are done mainly in the name of winning ballgames. When players develop a solid foundation of techniques, they will have more fun because they will be able to make more plays. If the proper amount of time is spent developing fundamental techniques, then play whichever brand of baseball that you desire. However, if fundamentals are being pushed aside to develop giimicks to win ballgames, then the REAL game is not being taught.
