Why do they do it?

What is wrong with parents? Are they all nuts?
Our LL Fall Ball decided that at the end of the season they would run a little tournament between the teams. Nothing special. Not even a trohpy to the winner. Jusst an opportunity for the kids to play and experience a tournament setting. whatever...
Personally I was against it.
Last night we had a game between two minors teams (9, 10 and 11YO kids). The coaches on one team were letting the kids taunt the pitcher of the other team. The parents were screaming at the umpire abd calling him names. He is a fine man and a darn good umpire. the parents would not stop. My wife went over to the dugout to stop the kids from what they were doing only to find out that there was not a parent ion the dugout (league rule, gotta have a parent in the dugout.) and as she was getting the kids attention one ofthe mothers came over and started screaming at my wife. My wife who is a board member and the player agent for our league told her to stop or she would have her removed fromthe park. Then one of the coaches was going to throw my wife out of the park. It was nuts.
These parents act like this is the 7th game of the WS.
this team has also had their kids go through the line at the end of a game telling the other team "you suck, you suck".
I just dont get it.
