Does it ever endddd?

My kid is the only lefty on his team. He's not the best player on the team, but he's easily among the top five. Problem is, he has to prove himself daily three times over. You see, he's not a coaches kid. The five coaches on the team each have a son playing, and of course their sons have a bestest buddy who plays also. Can anyone tell me what one should do when they see their kid struggle and sit on the bench when he's obviously deserving of better? It's disgusting and unfair. Not that the coaches are not good guys, just biased beyond any self-discipline or insight. Sometimes I think they want to make sure everyone stays "behind" the ability of their kids. What other reason could there be? Just frustrated as I'm trying to ride this out, but its starting to bother my son who is smart enough to smell the coffee. I can see it starting to effect him. He shouldn't have to do three times as much to get a third of the credit that others get just for showing up. Any of you coaches out there who have kids on your team, take the time to give all the players the same little whispers of encouragement and pats on the back that you give your kids. That way, everybody wins.
