LLWS Championship

Great post and I couldn't agree more on just about everything.

I'd go a bit farther on not taking Alvey out and say it was no different than when everyone on the BB was calling that other idiot an idiot! They had that Osborne kid who had thrown there and done pretty well. all they needed was 2 innings from him!

What on earth are telling players, parents and unknowing coaches? And you guys wonder why its so hard to institute pitch counts! I have never seen a pitcher have a heating pad applied to his arm in the middle of a game because his shoulder hurt. I mean c'mon! The kid was telling the guy his shoulder hurt and pointing to a spot that would have had me shivering in my shoes.

Of course, the reason might have been that the Kentucky coach probably thought the kids from Japan would kill Osborne if they were hitting Alvey, and he was probably right. I loved the game, I loved the kids and I give them all the highest of congratulations. But, In my heart, I don't think the best team won. Unfortunately for anyone who might share my feelings, that's baseball and why you play the game.
