Anyone else disgusted?

By: Scorekeeper

It all depends on your mindset. Like I said, I laughed, BB mom and CoachJT were disgusted. During today's game, Brent Mushberger had the audacity to say almost the same thing I did.

These are 12 YO inner city kids who are probably getting their 1st and last chance to experience what you and I call civilized social behavior, what in heck does anyone expect from them?

Then today on ESPN, they ran a special segment noting the "Hotdogging" at the LLWS by the Harlem team. They even pointed out the kid who "called his shot" earlier in the tournament.

Then they did a 5 minute piece on the biggest "Hotdogs" in the ML. Guys like Reggie Jackson, Ricky Henderson, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa were in it. At the end they made sure to note that these are the role models kid try to emulate.

Earlier in the tournament, during an at bat by one of the Harlem kids, the noted how his favorite ML player is Sammy Sosa, then they showed how his batting stance is a lot like Sammy's and how when he hits a good shot he "bounces out of the box.

Now people want to pillory the kid, the coach and the LL and on top of that imply that that no one in their precious and civilized program would stand for that kind of behavior.

Maybe I missed something, but when I saw it live and during several replays since, I didn't see the kid taunting the other team, or even looking at them. All I saw was an extremely happy kid coming to the plate to meet his jubilant teammates after hitting a home run in the LLWS doing the same "monster walk" I've seen kids of all ages do a hundred different times for a lot less stimulating experience.

At least it was spontaneous and from the kids and not from a group of parents clapping and taunting a player on another team that made a mistake.

Maybe I'm way off base or maybe there was something there I missed, but I honestly don't see the big deal.
