Special LL waiver???

I don't understand why you're so vehement on this one. There are probably 5,000 players in the country where this is an issue, and probably less than 1,000 are for reasons neither one of us care for. So you'd give the shaft to the 80% because the others are rotten SOBs.

Here's a good analogy that happens every day in housing developments with "rules". one of the silliest of these is not being allowed to have portable basketball hoops. That's the rule, but in most developments, there are portable BB hoops all over the place, but there are so few people who really care, its not an issue.

But let one blue hair get all PO'd and start complaining about the kid next door playing at all hours, and the you know what hits the fan! Rather than dealing with that one person who is really bothering someone, everyone with a portable hoop get fined and all Hell breaks loose.

This is the same thing. Deal with the problem individually so you don't penalize everyone who is doing a good job.

The only way to eliminate "all" the garbage is to get so strict with the rules that enforcement costs more than running the league, and since no one wants to have every rule enforced to the very letter without the ability to make "exceptions", most people would leave, then what do you have. This isn't like making sure every hit or run is properly marked, this affects the actual laying of the game.

Its an imperfect world, but we have to do the best we can with it.
