1st game of the LLWS Regionals

Not to be funny but in this case, size does matter. However, these kids will be tested when they get to the next level. Here(in NY) in most cases we go from little league right up to the 60ft. pitch 90 ft. bases. This really makes a difference. I see many kids that were the biggest kids in little league not succeed because they start to level off in size and in ability. A kid who is 5'10 playing in little league is almost unfair. What are you going to do if he's only 12? Well I hope he is on my team!

One point I would like to make is that too often on here I read how superior some leagues are to Litlle League and Babe Ruth. After watching many of these games on TV I have to disagree. It is what a coach can offer these players. I see too many travel teams with below average coaching. Yes it is good competition but when these kids get to the next level what good is it if they haven't been coached properly? Not to say there isn't good coaches at this level because I've seen that as well. A lot of it has to do with what you teach the kids. If you are looking for competition and you are involved in Little League or Babe Ruth play games after your playoffs are over against other quality all star teams in these same associations. However, most importantly, teach the kids the fundamentals of the game. Too many kids are not being taught this and it's a shame.

Did I ramble, YES! Sorry! I just have a hard time listening to people complain about the lack of quality in Little Leage and Babe Ruth. Thanks and I'll stop now.
