Playing time at the 8-9 yr old level

For lack of any new posts, I decided to look at this thread, which thankfully is about a level my son is well past!

In reading through it, I actually almost had tears in my eyes because I could feel the total helpless feeling of a parent for a child who is only trying to nurture and protect that child. I saw no malice in any of the posts, but a sense of hopelessness sure came through!

This kind of thread happens off and on and is really heartbreaking. What makes it worse is when one of you guys, I won't mention names because there are so many, who really epitomize good and caring coaching, posts something, The hopelessness seems to turn almost a sense of despair and envy because their child can't somehow play for a coach like you.

All I can say is that I agonize with you folks who's children are subject to anything less than a wonderful experience and wish I could change it. Unfortunately, that will never happen and life will never be fair.

But, even if your experience isn't what you hoped it would be, hang in there and keep trying. I remember something my almost 90 year old grandmother whispered in my ear when I was literally on my death bead after a very bad accident. In her broken English I heard, "This too will pass."
