9 Year Old Hitting Help

By: Jerry Hart

I can recommend an outstanding book for teaching hitting to kids. It's "You Can Teach Hitting" by Dusty Baker. You can learn a lot from Ted Williams' book "The Science of Hitting" and from Charlie Lau's book "The Art of Hitting .300" but Baker's book puts it all together. You could see the Taiwanese hitters putting Baker's advice to practical use in the 1996 Little League World Series. He has a companion interactive CD-ROM and several videos. For more info see his website at http://www.dustybaker.com
