High School Rejection

Gary,

First of all I want to say it appears that your son has a lot to be thankful for to have a parent like yourself. It sounds like you have been there for him every step of the way and will continue to be.

That is really all you can do. Growing up has its painful moments and this soungs like it might be one of those times. On the other hand maybe the coaches will see the value of having a player like your son and decide to keep him.

Diamonds are formed by withstanding a great deal of pressure, it sounds like you have a diamond in the rough for a son and only time will tell if he cracks under pressure. From what you have said it appears your son will be fine regardless of the coaches decision.
As parents sometimes all we can do is continue to be there for them through thick and thin, but we have to let them try and figure it out on there own.

Trying to sheild them from all of lifes dissapointments is a mistake, because you know they are going to occur long after you are there to protect him. Its not what happens to us that determines our future it is how we repond to what happens to us that shapes our lives.
That is the lesson I try and teach my sons and playeres.
