Mitchell, This may not be a popular post or acceptable answer to you but I feel it needs to be said. You said 2 things that alarmed me.1)He is ONLY 71/2 yrs old....... Give him a chance to grow up.you said he can compete with the older kids if............ why does he need to compete with the older kids.Let him compete and excel with kids his own age. 2) He is VERY small for his age. All the more reason to compete with kids his own age.If this was a high school kid you may want to be looking for ways to give him an edge but he is only 71/2. Let the kid enjoy his youth. 3) you said you were working CONSTANTLY on his form and balance.well I hope this doesn't mean you are working so constantly he loses the joy for the game. I am not picking on you personally and if sounds like I am I apologize in advance.I have just seen to many posts lately about moving kids up and select team problems I am afraid some of you are losing perspective. Its great to challenge your kids it makes them stronger. Its great to teach the value of hard work it will benefit them greatly, but I think some of you are pushing for your own sense of worth or pride instead of whats best for your kid. WE (myself included)all need to think about what we are trying to teach our kids when we push them so hard. SEADOG
