Federation Slide Rule?

I assume you mean the NHSF rule. In HS, you must either slide or "give yourself up" to avoid a collision. Now, I have seen runners try to hurdle the catcher, and be called safe, because the runner was trying to avoid contact.

On a DP, the lead runner must slide to the bag and not through it. Again, no contact (judgement call). JT
