Need drafting rules help fast

Reference: Pages 60-62 of 1999 LL Operating Manual....

There are basically two Drafting "Plans" described in the Ops manual for majors.

Plan A is simple (last years's) last place team picks first next to last picks second and so on... unitl 1st place team picks last...This order remains the same for each round until all teams have a full roster....

Plan B talks about two separate sections of the draft... and is a better fit for your situation. Section one all returning players not assigned to a team must be redrafted first.... Teams draft in a serpentine order ...(ie 4 teams picks would be 1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1 for two rounds) again last place team is assigned first pick...etc.... The second session, the teams select the non-returning majors kids that attended try-outs. and It is conducted like Plan A.

No where is a team allowed to pick more than one player before every other team has picked one..... So your situation where a team didn't get to pick before the 11th selection in a 6 team league is "WAY out of bounds".

Plan A does have one option for a "Bonus" pick. Any Team that needs to draft 8 or more player is allowed to get a bonus pick AFTER round 4. (Not before!) Each team in this situation picks during "bonus round" Other teams do not get a pick in this round.... then round 5 continues... to theend of the draft....

As the others have mentioned you can deviate from this but only with written permission from National hdqtrs....
