Who Are You?
By: Steve
Darrell, Neat idea! I'm 34 and my 1B-3B time isn't what it used to be. I've been blessed with three wonderful kids, Nathan (12), Becky (10) and James (22 months) and a lovely wife. We are all baseball nuts (even the baby, who walks around the house with his own glove and takes BP off his own tee daily). I've been coaching baseball for the past seven years (since Nate was 5)and it has grown to be one of my greatest joys. For the past three years, I've been coaching at the LL Majors and Allstar level. I'm in the Army and just moved from England to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, home of the 101st Airborne Division (the outfit that Private Ryan was assigned to, if you saw the movie). Life in the Army has provided many ups and downs as far as baseball goes. The hectic schedule tests the resolve of just about any manager, but we've also been afforded fantastic opportunities to play baseball all over the world. Right now, I'm really excited because we just completed our first-ever season of Fall Ball and the weather here is actually nice enough to practice in January. Beats the heck out of wearing wind breakers in July, like we used to in England! Steve
