League Structure
By: Paul Faubert
Wow-lots of questions!! Welcome to the board. 1. Is your league sactioned? and by which sactioning body? And why do you feel that this is the best one? We are sanctioned by Babe Ruth. I like BR over LL because their rules about who your travel teams can play are alot less stringent. With LL, you can only play LL while with BR, you can play anybody. BR also has a tournament structure all the way up to the World Series in multiple age groups. 2. What are your age groups? Rookie-5-6 A-7 AA-8 AAA-9 Major West-10-12-Lower Major East-10-12-Higher Sr. Minor-13 Sr. Major-14-15 3. What is your registration fees? $65 12 and under (Bambino) $85 Seniors 4. How many games are played per division? 16 plus playoffs. 5. How are kids assigned to teams? VP assigns for AAA and below. Draft for Major West and above. 6. How are All-Star teams sellected? In house All-Stars are picked ny the teams (3 each) to play in the All-Star game. Tournament (travel) teams are done by tryout. 7. Are board meeting open to everyone? That's a good one!! I actually suggested a "Town Hall" meeting and everyone went nuts on me. 8. How much fund raising is done throughout the season? All kids sell 30 candy bars or donate $15 to the league. We also run the concession stand and tournaments to raise $$. 9. How much does your league typically spend per season? We spend just over $100/house player. We also will pay for each tournament team to enter the Babe Ruth tournaments and 3 local tournaments. Tournament players are assessed an extra $15. 10. Does your league sponsor a traveling team? if so, What age groups? We have tournament teams from ges 8 and up.
