Bats: Wood v. Metal

By: Roger

I vote NO!!! The game would be better off without them. We have become sucked in to the bat manufacturers web. It all boils down to the mighty dollar. If the bat companies made the same or less money on these high tech bats as they do wood the problem would take care of itself. But how to you combat the issue of competing against teams that use them if you try to go wood or wood composite. Answer for my teams: Always use wood in practice and use aluminum in games. Am I being a hyprocrite? Maybe. But it's the only answer that my kids and my parents are comfortable with. And this is not to mentiion my coaches that think I am overstating the issue to begin with.
