Proper Rundown Assignments

The 'key' to better rundown excution is the philosophy & approach to what needs to be done. Meaning, a plan.

Avoiding the details of whom & where and when, and at what base, I will provide the simpler guideline. Upon continuing discussion, we can chat about the details at a latter date.

The best approach I prefer is to have the player without the ball (and involved in the run down) dictate to the player with the ball (& involved in the rundown) WHEN to throw the ball.

I use the verbal command "now" from the player without the ball (& involved in the rundown) to dictate to the guy with the ball, when to throw the ball.

However, other verbal commands will doeg 'ball', 'throw', 'check'

This results in a one throw run-down.

Players 10 & U have problems with this, but the instruction and Fundamental is key. From my observations, Players 14U pick this up the quickest.
